September 23-25 the GM Grand Rapids Metal Plant held a car show at that featured the Futurliner and virtually every 2009 Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Hummer, Pontiac, and Saturn vehicle offered. The show also featured a 2010 Camaro and the UAW-GM Center for Human Resource’s “Buy American” display, which includes NASCAR driver Kevin Harvick’s Chevy Monte Carlo and a virtual race track.
Local dealerships were set set up in the parking lot to show off their vehicles and to answer questions. The visitors saw rich part of GM history and got a look at GM present and future offerings.

Pictured is Don Far from Shelby, MI. Don saw an article in the newspaper about the Futurliner being shown at the 36th Street GM show and came down to check it out. He shared his story that when he was first hired by GM he worked for the Design staff and one of his first "jobs" was to design the display that had been in our Bus # 10. He is holding the picture we have on display that shows the one he worked on and it's the same one as in our handout folder titled Opportunity For Youth.
The souvenir booth was set up where more information including DVDs and books are available to purchase and take home.
